Dr. Youngblood and our entire staff love working with little smiles!
Your Child’s First Dental Visit
Dr. Youngblood begins seeing children as early as six months, or around the time their first tooth erupts. Regular six month visits should begin no later than the first birthday. These initial dental appointments are about more than checking for decay and damage. They are also a great opportunity to introduce your little one to the sights, smells, and sounds of the dentist’s office. And you get the chance to ask any questions you may have – such as, should you brush your child’s teeth? And if so, how often? Write down your questions to make sure you don’t leave with any doubts.
Healthy Teeth and Gums Require Preventive Care
During your child’s six month checkup and cleaning, our team will thoroughly remove plaque and tartar buildup from her teeth and gums. Then Dr. Youngblood will check to make sure your child’s smile is free from decay and infection. These preventive appointments are also about providing important patient education – like helping your little one understand the importance of regular dental hygiene, and how to maintain healthy teeth and gums.
Dealing With Jittery Nerves
Many children are nervous visiting the dentist, and some can’t even bear the thought of sitting in the dental chair. We know pleasant experiences from a young age can set your little one on the path to a lifetime of good dental health and hygiene. That’s why we are proud to offer sedation dentistry. From nitrous oxide to oral conscious sedation and even general anesthesia in select cases, we are prepared for all levels of fear and anxiety.
When was your little one’s last visit to the dentist? If it’s been more than six months, she’s missing out on crucial preventive care. Come check us out! We are excited to serve young patients in our new office. Schedule an appointmentwith the kids’ dentist in Center today!
